Spring is on its way

The chilly winter months are hopefully behind us and we can look forward to Mother's Day on 19 March and celebrating Easter on 9 April.

How about doing something completely different for Mother's Day? The Indian Block Printing Company in Middle Aston is holding block printing days around Mother's Day and Easter-time. There's lampshade printing on 18 March, 'Traditional Taste of India' printing on 23 March and an 'Introduction to Indian Block Printing' on 8 April. Or try a new skill at the Ardington School of Arts in Ardington near Wantage. There's a wide variety of courses to choose from including jewellery-making, working with glass, clay or mosaics, getting creative with textiles and learning how to do calligraphy. Waddesdon Manor is hosting Mother's Day Afternoon Tea events on 18 and 19 March as well as gin-tasting on the same days. How about doing both! Easter Adventures are also being held between 29 March and 10 April at Waddesdon. Otherwise, there's an Easter Eggstravaganza at Blenheim Palace between 7 and 10 April as well as an Easter Trail at Tumblestone Hollow at nearby Stonor Park between 1 and 16 April.

Whatever you decide to do, have a wonderful Mother's Day and chocolately Easter.
